How long you think need for me on this Java problem ?
I am not a full time programmer and do as a hobby. I used perl/shell scripts/basic C programming/jsp pages a lot and good with unix stuffs. Wrote many java (jsp) code on file/pattern matching stuffs.
Now I got a work, that, i need to collect some data on unix box in tar.gz format, and using java on windows, need to design something like, tree model on left from the tar.gz files and a frame on right to display actions like displaying some files, doing some calculations.
I spend last week in figuring out that i can use zip class and swing – jtree/jframe to get my work, in applet. Yet to figure it out on integrating the two though i am confident. I use netbeans with IDE 5.0 and i can able to run both seperately – can display contents of the zip and even extract them and also to create a JTree and building nodes.
Want to see where am i am standing and how long a normal programmer takes for this kind of job. Thanks.
